Apple and Mercedes-Benz Improve Apple Watch Navigation

There are so many things that kids today will never get to experience, like looking up a phone number in the phone book or picking out a video at the video store, but one of the most mind-blowing developments of the last 10-20 years is GPS, which means today's youth also will never know what it feels like to be lost.

It's an amazing thing, really, that they'll never have to feel that lurch in their stomach when visiting a large city and taking the incorrect off-ramp, or driving an hour on a certain road with only a deep-seeded hope that they're going in the right direction.

GPS took those problems away, and the Apple Watch and Mercedes-Benz are working together to make navigation systems even more amazing than they've ever been.

There is an app that allows that COMAND® infotainment system to work in conjunction with the Apple Maps navigation system in the watch. Users can now enter their destination on the watch before leaving for a place, then the watch will give walking directions to the car (assuming the walk isn't just to an attached garage). Turn the car on, and COMAND® takes over for the driving portion of the navigation. Once the driver has parked at or near the destination and has turned the car off, the watch picks things right back up and gives walking directions for the rest of the way.

Basically, it's seamless navigation, and it's something that makes every new Mercedes-Benz vehicle a marvel of modern technology. As your Mercedes-Benz dealership, we love all the upgrades, and we especially love knowing that we'll never have to get lost again!
