Mercedes-Benz Posts Strong Numbers in Dependability Study

Earning the trust of consumers is an unbelievably challenging thing to do, particularly in the world of the automobile. People are naturally and understandably wary of machines, but the reality is that there are some manufacturers that do a better job creating a reliable product than others.

Mercedes-Benz is one of those manufacturers, at least according to the most recent J.D. Power & Associates Vehicles Dependability Study. By looking at three-year-old vehicles and the number of problems drivers have reported with those cars over the course of the last year, J.D. Power is able to determine which automobiles are able to perform well not only in the first twelve months, when the vehicle is brand new, but also in the third year, when consumers are considering trading in their vehicles to buy something new all over again.

Specifically, Mercedes-Benz finished in the top five among all luxury car brands, with drivers reporting only 119 problems per 100 vehicles, a significantly lower figure than the industry average of 147 problems per 100 vehicles. That's great news not only for people buying brand new Mercedes-Benz cars, but for those looking into pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars, too.

It's a good thing to be a Mercedes-Benz dealership when the vehicles we sell are so often lauded for their build quality. This is one bit of evidence lending credence to the idea that Mercedes-Benz manufacturers really know what they're doing, and the more evidence we can give our customers of precisely that, the happier they're going to be with their vehicle purchases.
